South Korea and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) are scheduled to hold a meeting Tuesday over security cooperation, the foreign ministry here said Tuesday.
The fourth annual consultations at NATO Headquarters in Brussels will address a range of security issues of mutual concern, including South Korea-NATO cooperation, regional issues in Northeast Asia, Afghanistan and Libya, cyber terrorism and anti- piracy efforts, according to the ministry.
South Korea is not part of the 28-member organization consisting of North American and European countries, but has cooperated with the world's largest military alliance through policy consultations and personnel exchanges, the ministry said.
Seoul currently has troops stationed in Afghanistan to protect its civilian reconstruction workers to contribute to the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) there.
