italian practice iosa ghini associati has sent us images of their latest project 'IBM software executive briefing center'.
located in rome, the corporate office has been entirely renovated and significantly expanded in its area.
housed within a larger complex which contains the international innovation lab, the design aims to provide all of the
tools necessary to explore IBM's technology in one experiential environment.

designer massimo iosa ghini says,
'the IBM software executive briefing program is designed to provide professionally managed events and to maximize
the value of time that customers spend in IBM. any “briefing” usually includes presentations and demonstrations to
bring customers to run events which they participate. listening, discussing and illustrating how the new IBM technologies
can be helpful in facing and resolving technical and business issues, make people away from the traditional concept of
communication, to get closer to a place of useful comparison: a new agora'
presentation center
interactive panels and hi-tech applications are used in conjunction with contoured walls to create a highly modern
adaptation of space. overlapping layers of transparent surfaces blur the visitors perception of depth and accessibility,
visually merging various enclosures and programs. reminiscent of an internal hard-drive, the environment looks to
create a new dimension of communication, interaction and exposure.

the project, which consists of two banquet halls, a chapel and a series of binary spaces, turns an existing structure
previously used as a bank into a wedding hall.
entrance
grand and demanding in its massing, the building has been designed to give the impression that is a landmark of
historical significance. a prominent chapel measuring nine meters high rises from the basement level to the third floor,
cutting through the core of the structure. giving the impression of stained glass, a total of 210 custom-made pendant
lights hang from the ceiling, sprawling their colors around the cavernous space.

two banquet halls located on the first and third floor hold post-ceremony receptions of various sizes. the third floor
banquet hall is themed around culinary experiences and has a lively atmosphere with a visually exposed kitchen.
from their seats, the entire kitchen can be overlooked, allowing guests to enjoy the company and food while sensing
the performance of the chefs.

a cafe located on the first floor was planned so that both the visitors and citizens of the town can enjoy the space.
decorated with paintings and sculptures by local and foreign artists, the restaurant looks to provide a comfortable but
sophisticated environment that is suitable for its wide range of users.
