c. Personal camouflage application follows:

(1) Face. Use dark colors on high spots and light colors on anyremainingexposed areas. Use a hat, netting, or mask if available.

(2) Ears. The insides and the backs should have 2 colors to breakupoutlines.

(3) Head, neck, hands, and the under chin. Use scarf, collar,vegetation,netting, or coloration methods.

(4) Remember when using shadows, they shift with the sun.

(1) Choose an area¾< o<="" span=""><>

(a) Least likely to be searched (drainages, rough terrain, etc.) andblendswith the environment.

(b) With escape routes (DO NOT corner yourself). 

B 带有逃生通道（千万不要让自己成为困兽） 

(c) With observable approaches.

(2) Locate entrances and exits in brush and along ridges, ditches,androcks to keep from forming paths to site.

(3) Be wary of flash floods in ravines and canyons.

4. Movement

a. A moving object is easy to spot. If travel is necessary¾< o<=""span=""><>

(1) Mask with natural cover (Figure I-2).

(2) Use the military crest.

(4) Avoid silhouetting (Figure I-3).

(a) STOP at a point of concealment.

(b) LOOK for signs of human or animal activity (smoke,tracks,roads, troops, vehicles, aircraft, wire, buildings, etc.). Watch fortrip wiresor booby traps and avoid leaving evidence of travel. Peripheralvision is moreeffective for recognizing movement at night and twilight. 

B 观测任何人或者动物的活动迹象（烟，车印，道路，部队，车辆，飞机，电线，建筑物等等）。小心地面上的警报拉发绊网或地雷，避免留下行军的任何迹象。在夜晚或者凌晨，眼角余光对于行军更加有效。

(c) LISTEN for vehicles, troops, aircraft, weapons, animals,etc.

C 倾听车辆，部队，飞机，枪火，野生动物等发出的声响。 

(d) SMELL for vehicles, troops, animals, fires, etc. 

D 闻汽车，部队，野兽，烧火等传出的气味。 

(6) Employ noise discipline; check clothing and equipment for itemsthatcould make noise during movement and secure them. 

6 安静行军；检查衣物中和装备上可能在行军过程中会引起声响的物件。 

b. Break up the human shape or recognizable lines. 

B.避免出现身体或其他可被辨识的轮廓 

c. Route selection requires detailed planning and specialtechniques(irregular route/zigzag) to camouflage evidence of travel. 

C.行军路线的选择需详细的计划和特殊的技巧（不规则的线路/z字形的线路），以便隐藏行军线路。

d. Some techniques for concealing evidence of travel follows: 

d 一些隐藏行军线路的技巧有： 

(1) Avoid disturbing the vegetation above knee level. 

1.避免弄乱器盖以上的植被。 

(2) DO NOT break branches, leaves, or grass. 

2.千万不要折断树枝，脱落树叶或践踏草皮。 

(3) Use a walking stick to part vegetation and push it back to itsoriginalposition. 

3.行军过程中，利用树枝将草分开，通过之后将其拨回。 

(4) DO NOT grab small trees or brush. (This may scuff thebarkor create movement that is easily spotted. In snow country, this creates apathof snowless vegetation revealing your route.) 

4.千万不要抓拔小树和小丛林。（很容易弄破树皮，留下行军痕迹。在雪地，抓过的小树白雪掉落，行军路线一览无遗） 

(5) Pick firm footing (carefully place the foot lightly but squarely onthesurface to avoid slipping).  

5.脚步要稳（脚步要轻，走稳，以防滑倒） 

TRY NOT TO 

尽量不要做以下的事情：

(a) Overturn ground cover, rocks, and sticks. 

掀翻地面植被，岩石或树枝。 

b) Scuff bark on logs and sticks. 

B 弄破圆木和树枝的树皮 

(c) Make noise by breaking sticks. (Cloth wrapped around feet helpsmufflethis.) 

C 踩断树枝（用衣物包住双脚有利于较少声音） 

(d) Mangle grass and bushes that normally spring back. 

D 正常情况下，草被或小树林被踩过后还会反弹回去。
