The ruling Democrat Party would organize three major campaigns in the capital city of Bangkok this week.

According to Apirak Kosayodhin, Director of the Democrat Party' s election center for Bangkok, preparations are underway for those major campaigns -- Wong Wian Yai on June 16, Benjasiri Park on June 17 and Lam Phak Chi Market in Nong Chok district on June 19.

Democrat remains confident that it will win at least 27 MP seats out of 33 in Bangkok despite a recent poll in favor of the opposition Pheu Thai Party, according to Apirak.

The latest survey conducted by Bangkok University suggested that the Pheu Thai Party was gaining more support from Bangkok residents than the Democrat.

Meanwhile, Democrat Party Spokesperson MD Buranaj Smutharaks deemed the Bangkok Poll unconvincing as it also came up with an unprecise prediction in the 2007 general election.

Thailand will hold a general election on July 3 in order to elect 375 constituency-based MPs and 125 party-list MPs to form 500 members of the Lower House. New government must be formed within 30 days after the election according to electoral law.
