About 400 policemen will be deployed at the Thailand-Japan Youth Centre at Din Daeng where registration of party list candidates in the July 3-election will be kicked off Thursday.

The party lists registration has been scheduled from May 19 to 23 while registration of constituency candidate from May 24 to 28.

According to Pol Col Wicharnwat Borirakkul, deputy commander of the Metropolitan Police Division 1, the 400 policemen to be deployed at 5.30 a.m. Thursday morning will comprise two companies of riot police, 40 traffic policemen, 30 police detectives in uniform and plainclothes, and a 30 strong police commando unit.

Only representatives of political parties, Election Commission (EC) staff and news reporters who registered their attendance in advance will be allowed inside the registration building. No more than 10 representatives, including the party leader, of each political party will be allowed to enter the building.

Each party will draw lot to decide number on the party list section of the ballot paper.

Supporters of all political parties are allowed inside the sports stadium, but use of noise-making instruments and shows for entertainment is prohibited.
