Greece will continue the implementation of the plan agreed with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to exit the debt crisis, said Greek government spokesman George Petalotis on Sunday, when asked to comment on the arrest of IMF's head Dominique Strauss- Kahn.

Strauss-Kahn was arrested in the U.S. Saturday and charged with sexual assault against a female employee of a hotel in New York. He was scheduled to fly to Europe for talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel later on Sunday and euro zone finance ministers in Brussels on Monday regarding the Greek crisis among other issues.

"The Greek government acts with institutions and not individuals, and continues without problems the implementation of the plan to exit the crisis," stressed Petalotis.

Analysts, however, said the legal troubles of Strauss-Kahn could possibly delay decisions over the next steps to put in order Greek finances with the support of IMF and the European Union.

Strauss-Kahn played a significant role in the pact reached last May to grant debt-ridden Greece a multi-billion euro aid package in exchange for austerity and reform policies to exit the crisis.
