1） so that可以连在一起引导结果从句时，可以分开，也可以放在一起。so that分开时，so后面可接“形容词，副词或分词；so位于句首，主句的主谓要倒装。
例 1 The book was so boring that he gave up reading it half way through. 这本书非常乏味，他读了一半就不读了。
例 2 He spoke so rapidly that we could not clearly understand him. 他说得太快，使我们无法清楚地了解他的意思。
例 3 So badly was he injured that he had to be sent to the hospital. 他的伤势很重，不得不送医院。
例 4 Susan was so exhausted that she couldn’t eat dinner.苏姗疲惫得吃不下晚餐。
2） such (…) that只用来引导结果状语从句。such后面可以接单数可数名词，复数可数名词，不可数名词。such放在句首，主谓要倒装。
