However, the sport was reserved for the elite and almost disappeared in China. But with the country's recent economic boom, polo is seeing a comeback as more people have the means to enjoy it.
CRI's Yang Yong visited the Tang Polo Club in Beijing to find out what's driving Chinese people to get into the game.
