A well-known Chinese entrepreneur and philanthropist has pledged todonate his entire fortune to charity after his death, becoming thefirst in China to respond to the campaign launched in the US by BillGates and Warren Buffett, who will soon visit China to advocatephilanthropy。
我国著名企业家和慈善家(陈光标)已承诺死后将全部财产捐出，成为我国第一位响应比尔?盖茨和沃伦?巴菲特慈善捐助活动的富豪。盖茨和巴菲特将于不久后来华宣传慈善。
文中的donate his entire fortune to charity after hisdeath字面上是“死后将全部财产捐出”，其实就是我们常说的“裸捐”，英文中也可以用all-outdonation来表示。盖茨和巴菲特在美国劝说富豪们give the majority of theirwealth(捐出大部分财产)，这些富豪都属于super-rich级别。
不少富豪由于害怕being lobbied to make charitypromises(劝捐)，因而婉拒了philanthropicgathering/banquet(慈善晚宴)的邀请。因为在中国，富豪们都想要leave their entire fortunes totheir descendants(把财产留给后代)，这是一个deep-rooted concept(根深蒂固的观念)，不是那么容易改变的。
