Here's why celebrities don't mind going back to their cheating partners...
What on earth was Cheryl Cole thinking? That's the question millions are asking, even as they shake their heads in exasperation and ponder over the singer's most dim-witted decision to date. Yes, much to the dismay of a million male hearts and just as many incensed female ones, Cheryl has decided to take back ex-husband footballer Ashley Cole. While her move may have been fuelled by depression following her removal from the judges' panel of a reality show, here's why other celebs did what they did.
All for family
Mr Botox Arnold Schwarzenegger actually thought he had a chance with the feisty Maria Shriver even after it came to light that he'd had a love child with another woman while they were married. The lady finally filed for divorce, but not before thinking and re-thinking. After all, a hitherto 'perfect' family was at stake here.
Back to pretty times
In the unforgiving entertainment industry, looking picture perfect even when you're brushing your teeth in the morning is imperative. So, some stars go back to their exes (even if they had slept with their kids' nanny) simply because they've seen them sans the make-up, sans the airbrushed glitz. Sample case: Sienna Miller who briefly got back with Jude Law. She said at that time, "It feels great to revisit those pretty times." So blonde!
Monogamy? uh?
The rate at which celebrities are jumping beds and partners, it would be silly to think monogamy is fashionable. Why else would the gorgeous Liz Hurley get back with the roving eyed Shane Warne, even after he allegedly cheated on her just months into their brand-new romance? And that's not even it. With the blonde spinner's record of straying, he's so bound to do it again. But if Liz's OK with it, who are we to stop her?
Blind love
If we had a husband as deadly hot as David Beckham, perhaps we too would turn a blind eye and a deaf ear to our spouse's cheating ways. When reports surfaced that the footballer had an affair with Rebecca Loos, Vic refused to believe it and went on with life. (FYI — if you're looking to kill someone for Cheryl's decision, go get Posh. It was she who told Cheryl to 'follow your heart.')
Making demands
If they're not going to be bold and 'kick-him-out' like Sandra Bullock, these magnanimous celebs might as well make the best of taking back their men... as princess Cheryl is doing. She has demanded her soon-to-be 'ex ex-husband' to buy her a new family home, a high-tech recording studio and a brand new diamond ring!
Until then, we're going to grab a tub of popcorn and watch what bootylicious babe Salma Hayek will do, following recent reports that her hubby fathered another child with supermodel Linda Evangelista, around the same time he made her preggers.
