Increases the bookmark twitter facebook digg Google Windowslive Delicious buzz friendfeed Linkedin diigo reddit stumbleupon QQ France was determined to put forward a draft resolution at the UN Security Council to condemn Syria, Foreign Ministry spokesman Bernard Valero said Wednesday."The time has come for the international community to assume its responsibilities" in a bid to stop the continuation and escalation of violence against protesters in Syria, Valero said at a regular media briefing.
During his recent visit to the United States, French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe said Syrian President Bashar al-Assad had lost his legitimacy to rule, while France and its allies were ready to push forward with a UN resolution condemning al-Assad's regime.
Earlier Wednesday, British Prime Minister David Cameron said his country and France were to submit the resolution Wednesday.
