Remove network printers

Before you begin the process of removing the NetWare client, you willwant to remove any network printers that you have setup in Windows.This will prevent problems with Windows trying to communicate withdevices that no longer exist.

Simply open the Printers control panel (Start > Settings > Printers), right-click on the printer you wish to remove, and select Delete . This will remove the printer from Windows. Repeat for all network printers you have defined.

Windows 98/ME

  1. Download UNC_98ME.EXE from the Software web page (Windows > UW-Platteville NetWare Client Uninstall (Removal) - Windows 98/ME). This file is a self-extracting archive, and will extract the files you need to remove the NetWare client from Windows 98/ME.
  2. Once you have opened this archive, run the program UNC32.EXE .
  3. Follow the prompts on the screen, and make sure you reboot when the process has completed.

Windows NT 4

  1. Open the Network control panel (Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network)
  2. Go to the Services tab and highlight Novell Client for Windows NT
  3. Press the Remove button. The Novell Client for NT/2000 and dependent Windows network services will be removed.

Windows 2000

  1. Open Network and Dial-Up Connections (Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network and Dial-up Connections)
  2. Highlight the Local Area Connection entry where the Novell Client for NT/2000 is being used.
  3. Click Properties to bring up the properties dialog for that connection.
  4. Highlight the Novell Client for Windows 2000 entry in the connection properties.
  5. Press the Uninstall button. Windows will confirm that you want to remove the Novell Client for NT/2000 from all connections and not just the current connection.
  6. Answer Yes to this prompt and the Novell Client for NT/2000 and dependent Windows network services will be removed.

Windows XP Professional

  1. Open Network Connections (Start > Control Panel > Network Connections)
  2. Highlight the Local Area Connection entry where the Novell Client for NT/2000 is being used.
  3. Click Properties to bring up the properties dialog for that connection.
  4. Highlight the Novell Client for Windows entry in the connection properties.
  5. Press the Uninstall button. Windows will confirm that you want to remove the Novell Client for Windows from all connections and not just the current connection.
