How to deploy FEP2010 client via OSD
- In the tree pane, expand Site Database, expand Computer Management, expand Software Distribution, Expand Packages, Expand Microsoft Corporation FEP-Deployment 1.0, Highlight Programs
- From the Actions menu, Click New Program
- In the Name field type a name for the program e.g. FEPviaOSDInstall
- In the Command line type: "FEPInstall.exe /s /q "
- Change the Run to Hidden
- Click Next
- In Requirements, Estimated disk space: type 200 MG
- In Maximum allowed run time (minutes): type 15
- Click Next
- In Environment, Program can run: change to Whether or not user is logged
- Click Next
- In Advanced, Check the Suppress program notifications
- Click Next
- Click Next
- Click Finish
- Click Next at the Summary page
- In the Wizard Completed, Click Close
- Go back to the Microsoft Corporation FEP-Deployment 1.0 pane, and right click Update Distribution Points.
- Click "Yes" when asked "Are you sure you want to update all distribution points.
- In the tree pane, expand Site Database, expand Computer Management, expand Operating System Deployment and expand Task Sequences.
- Select your task
- In the Task Sequence Editor click Add General Install Software
- Select Install a single application
- In Package - Click Browse… and select Microsoft Corporation FEP-Deployment 1.0
- In Program Select the FEPviaOSDInstall program that was created in previous steps
- Click OK to save and Close

- In the Task Sequence select the newly created test task
- From the Actions menu select Advertise, Select a test collection with a designated test client
- Click on the Star in the Mandatory assignments and click and click ok in the Schedule window
- Finish the wizard with default parameters
- Usually within 5 minutes the program should be installed
- From SCCM Toolkit v2 Use the PolicySpy to monitor the policy, click Crtl+R to Request Machine Assignments
- For more information on the deployment process at the client side view the following logs:
- Execmgr.log
- Smsts.log - this log will be available only when deployment starts
