A helicopter has crash landed near the University of Cape Town's (UCT) campus in South Africa on Wednesday morning, local media said.

The pilot was injured, but no death was reported.

Campus security told South Africa's News24 that the helicopter went down at about 9:00 a.m..

The cause of the accident was still unknown.

According to the Eye Witness News (EWN), four people escaped deaths after their helicopter crashed.

Fire and Rescue's Theo Lane said they are waiting for aviation officials to arrive. "We responded to a helicopter that crash landed just opposite UCT. There was only one injury, the pilot was injured. The three passengers are okay and the area has been closed off until aviation inspectors arrive," he told EWN.  Related Reading
