1958年发出的情书 历经53年终抵收信人(图)

　　A love letter to a US college student from the girlfriend who wasto become his wife is finally on its way to him - 53 years after it waswritten in 1958.

　　一封投递给美国某位大学生的、来自于其曾经的未婚妻的情书现在终于上路了，虽然这封情书写于1958年，整整迟了53年。

　　The letter surfaced in a Pennsylvanian university mailroom earlier this month。

　　在这月初这封信上写着的地址是宾夕法尼亚大学的某个邮箱。

　　It was addressed to Clark C Moore, who has since changed his name to Muhammad Siddeeq, making it hard to trace him。

　　这封情书是寄给一个叫做Clark C Moore，但是现在已经改名为Muhammad Siddeeq先生的，由于这次改名，让这封信找到真正的收件人变得尤为困难。

　　But a friend saw a TV report about it and contacted the sortingoffice. Mr Siddeeq, 74, says he is still eager to read it, despite nowbeing divorced。

　　不过幸好y一位Siddeeq先生的朋友看到了电视新闻于是联系了他。Siddeeq先生表示他依然非常希望看到这封信，虽然他和写信的未婚妻已经离婚了。

　　The letter mysteriously arrived at the California University ofPennsylvania, in the north-eastern state of Pennsylvania, 10 daysago. Written to Mr Moore, the two-page letter was postmarked 20 February1958 and signed "love forever Vonnie"。

　　这封信件在十天以前神奇般的被寄到了加利福尼亚大学的宾夕法尼亚州分校，这所大学位于宾州的东北部。寄给Moore先生的这封信是1958年2月20日的信件，上面还写着“永远爱你的Vonnie”。

　　Mr Siddeeq, a retired teacher who is now living in the mid-westerncity of Indianapolis, said he was shocked when he was contacted by theuniversity。

　　Siddeeq现在已经是一位退休教师居住在中西部城市Indianapolis，他表示当大学联系到他的时候他震惊了。

　　"We have a system here in America where if something is for you andif they find it, it gets to you, that's beautiful," he told US TVstation WTAE。

　　He and his girlfriend wrote to each other when he was studying science, he said。

　　They did eventually marry and have four children。

　　他们最后确实结婚了，而且有了4个孩子。

　　Romance was different then - with no computers, letter writing wasthe only way to stay in touch and remains more romantic than emails, hesaid。

　　他表示那个时候的人有另外一种浪漫，人们没有电脑，所以交流都是通过信件，这样其实更浪漫。

　　He admitted to having mixed emotions about the letter as he and Vonnie are now divorced。

　　他也承认由于他和Vonnie已经离婚了所以听说这封信的时候感情有些复杂。

　　But he told Washington's Observer-Reporter paper that he was keento read it as it was "a testament of the sincerity, interest andinnocence of that time"。

　　但是他告诉华盛顿报的记者他依然很希望能够读到这封信，毕竟这封信是当时的纯真、关切和真诚的见证。

　　University officials said the letter was now on its way to him along with a T-shirt from the university。

　　大学的工作人员表示这封信已经伴随学校的意见T恤一起送往Siddeeq先生了。

　　"He said if he didn't get that package within the next 53 years, hewould call to complain," university spokeswoman Christine Kindl toldReuters news agency。

　　大学的发言人告诉记者：如果Siddeeq先生在之后的53年还是收不到这封信，他肯定会抱怨我们的效率。
