Milton Jones was joined by cow expert Bruce Woodacre on a Hertfordshire farm to test the reaction of a herd of fresians。
He performed a special set of visual and verbal jokes, called PullThe Udder One, while Mr Woodacre monitored the cows' reaction。
Mr Jones said: "Writing comedy for cows was very different to myday job but a comedian plays to his audience, so I wrote a raft of newmaterial to really get under their hides。
Mr Woodacre, who has studied cow behaviour for more than 40 years,said: "Happy cows are more productive. Most of the herd crowded closelyround the stage and jostled for a good position. They had their mouthsopen and their ears laid back, indicating they were relaxed and content.Not everyone was entertained though - I definitely heard some lowheckling moos and there were even a few walk-outs."
英国的一位喜剧演员为了验证奶牛是否具有幽默感，决定对着一群奶牛做喜剧表演。
这个名叫米尔顿?琼斯的喜剧演员还请来了赫特福德郡的奶牛养殖专家布鲁斯?伍德科尔做帮手。
他在奶牛面前眉飞色舞、手舞足蹈地讲笑话，而伍德科尔先生则负责观察牛群的反应。
琼斯先生说：“给牛做喜剧表演非常具有挑战性，但作为喜剧演员我必须得娱乐我的观众，所以我必须尽量编排出一些能让这些家伙感到好笑的东西。”
伍德科尔先生研究奶牛的行为已经四十多年了，他说：“奶牛感到快乐时产奶量就高。你看这些家伙有序地围在舞台周围，微张着嘴，耷拉着耳朵，一副轻松惬意的表情。当然它们不是都喜欢看“娱乐节目”——我就听到某些家伙会小声地叫着，仿佛在台下起哄，还有几头居然不屑一顾地走开了。”
