Can China & US Enjoy Peaceful Co-existence in the Coming 50 Years?

Can China and US become real partners? Russian media advanced this question at the time that militaries of both sides approach to each other -

It is analayzed that China-US relations still have many differences points. The unpredictability randomness of US caused China's worries.


A Russian strategist further pointed out that it is impossible for China to become real strategic partner with US in that these two countries have interests conflicts in Asian Pacific Region.


But US would not weaken or surrender its military presence in far east,while Chinese military's confidence growing is irreversible.


It is under this situation that China worries the potential increase in conflicts and therefore feel it is a must to develop closer ties with Chinese miilitary and build up more frequent communication in order to avoid the fires.


From the outsider view, even if China and US militaries cannot become strategic partners in real sense, the necessity of dialogue is rising --

For anyone interested in international affairs and geopolitical stability, there is no more compelling and, indeed, important issue than the relationship between the US and China. It gets to the heart of how the world will be organised in the next 50 years or more. It will determine the shape of the global economy and its success (or failure) and it will drive to the heart of how multilateral diplomacy can address everything from climate change to multinational pandemics.


The Sino-American relationship will also define global stability and security. Wars of one kind or another will be with us for many decades to come but if we are to ensure spot fires remain contained, then China and the US need to live in harmony. Whether they can or not is the biggest question the world will face in the next half-century.


For the past 20 years, China-US military exchanges have experiences "6 stops + 6 smooth runs". There are mainly 3 barriers in the way of cooperation in-depth. First is the arm sales to Taiwan. Second is US's investigations over China's near sea and low-altitude air space. The third is that US restrictions with cooperation domains between China and US military, which makes China feel unfair.


But the toughest point is that how to interpret each other. So, this time, China offers Mike Mullen the overview presentation, expecting that the US would gain more extensive and in-depth understandings of China military, and therefore in the hope that bilateral coopeartion and exchanges would then step into the substantial stage.
