An explosion hit Kunduz city, the capital of Kunduz province 250 km north of capital city Kabul on Sunday, casualties feared, an Afghanistan official said.

"It was a suicide attack carried out against a military convoy leaving some people killed and injured," the official told Xinhua but declined to give more details, saying authorized officials would brief media on the subject.
