British Prime Minister David Cameron said here Tuesday that Britain will work with Pakistan to fight terrorism.

"Pakistan has offered numerous sacrifices and we have shared interest in combating terrorism," Cameron told a joint press conference with his Pakistani counterpart Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani after their strategic talks.

Regarding the on-going war on terrorism, the British prime minister said his country wants to work more closely with Pakistan to combat this menace.

Announcing 650 million pounds worth of aid for Pakistan's education, Cameron said his country will enhance financial support to Pakistan in education and health sector particularly for women and children.

The fund, to be spent over the next four years, will be used to build or refurbish more than 8,000 schools, train 90,000 teachers and get an extra four million Pakistani children back to school.

Terming the bilateral ties as "unbreakable", the British prime minister said Pakistan's development is in his country's interest and the two leaders have agreed to increase two-way trade from the current 1.9 billion pounds to 2.5 billion per year.

Gilani said Pakistan and Britain have agreed to enhance strategic partnership in the fields of trade, security and education.

"We had useful discussions on a range of areas including health, education, security and efforts to counter terrorism," he said.

Cameron arrived in Islamabad on Tuesday morning on his first visit to Pakistan since taking office last May. During the visit, the two leaders launched an enhanced strategic dialogue to further strengthen ties.
