Finished Size
6 1/2" tall x 7 1/2" across base.
Materials
- Worsted-weight yarn
- 6 oz. red
- 2 oz. each white, pink and green
- Small amount yellow
- Cardboard center from toilet tissue roll
- 1" deep x 6" round Styrofoam circle
- Craft glue or hot glue gun
- I crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
Gauge
3 sts = 1"; 3 dc rows and 3 sc rows = 2".
Rose is 2" across. Leaf is 2" long.
Candle
Rnd 1: With white, ch 3, sl st in first ch to form ring, ch 1, 6 sc in ring, join with sl st in first sc (6 sc).
Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, join (12).
Rnd 3: Ch 1, sc in first st, 2 sc in next st, (sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) around, join (18).
Rnd 4: Working this rnd in back lps only, ch 1, sc in each st around, join.
Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in first st, dc in next st, (sc in next st, dc in next st) around, join.
Rnd 6: Ch 3, sc in next st, (dc in next st, sc in next st) around, join with sl st in top of ch-3.
Rnds 7-18: Repeat rnds 5 and 6 alternately. At end of last rnd, fasten off.
For flame, with yellow, ch 5, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, dc in next ch, sc in next ch, sl st in last ch, fasten off.
Sew one end to center of rnd 1 on Candle. Slip Candle over cardboard center from toilet tissue roll.
Rose
Make 17 red and 4 pink
Ch 29, sc in 2nd ch from hook, 2 dc in next ch, (sc in next ch, 2 dc in next ch) across to last ch, sl st in last ch, fasten off. Roll into shape of a rose and tack to secure.
Leaf
Make 18
With green, ch 7, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across; working on opposite side of ch, sc in each ch across, join with sl st in first sc, fasten off.
Finishing
1. Glue bottom end of Candle to center of Styrofoam.
2. Arrange and glue Roses over Styrofoam and over bottom of Candle as desired covering completely.
3. Glue Leaves among Roses as desired.
