September 01 Ingersoll Rand a Major Presence at Hospital Support Service Management Forum in Shanghai by  Blazek, Kelly  on 9/1/2011 5:09 PM

Ingersoll Rand was a presenter and sponsor at the third annual Hospital Support Service Management Shanghai Forum, which attracts nearly 500 hospital executives from across China.  As a company committed to helping hospitals practice “Safe, Green and Lean” at their facilities, Ingersoll Rand was pleased to be a major sponsor in support of this year’s forum and theme, “Hospital Support Service Management Comparison and Enlightenment between China and the U.S.”

This annual forum is a professional academic exchange for hospital support service executives. Presenting at this year’s forum were three Ingersoll Rand executives:

- Laura Rygielski Preston, vice president – Global Healthcare Practice, who spoke on “U.S. Hospital System Challenges and the Role of Support Services”
- Min Qi Shi, technical director, Climate Solutions Trane China who spoke on “LEED Authentication and Assessment for Hospital Green Buildings”
- David Zhu, technical director, Security Technologies Greater China who spoke on “Life Safety and Security International Codes and Regulations for Hospital Buildings and Applications"

Ingersoll Rand also hosted a fourth industry speaker, Wayne Klingelsmith, principal of MSL Healthcare Consulting, who presented “Best Practice Business Models for Support Service in U.S. Hospitals.”

Their insights were well-received by attendees, who engaged the speakers in frequent questions and discussions on solutions for hospital support service teams.  “This is the type of helpful content that I’ve been seeking for years, and the presenters were very relevant to my operations,” said Zhiyong Zhang, CEO of the Fudan Public Healthcare Clinical Center, after David’s introduction of Life Safety and Security applications.

At the forum, the Ingersoll Rand China Healthcare Solution was launched, which integrates globally well-known brands like Schlage and Trane in delivering safety, sustainability and efficiency to hospitals. An Ingersoll Rand booth at the trade show portion of the forum featured a simulated fire escape, and examples of infant ward access, as both are priority safety issues for hospitals.  Hospital executives also had the opportunity to learn more about energy-saving air cleaning and air conditioning solutions from Ingersoll Rand representatives, many who are pictured above.

The forum, which enhanced Ingersoll Rand’s reputation with major hospital industry stakeholders, provided opportunities for academic dialogues on current trends, theories and practices for executives leading support services for their facilities.  “I consider this forum the top healthcare academic and learning forum in China that I’ve ever attended,” said Lirong Zhuge, chairman of the forum and deputy director of the Shanghai Hospital Development Centre.
