《暮光之城》
Vampires have long been a part of the folkloreof certain areas, particularly in parts of Eastern Europe. Madefamous in modern times by Bram Stoker's Dracula, vampires wereportrayed as horrific characters who terrorized the townspeople,rising at night to suck the blood of their victims, thus turningthe victims into vampires, too. Stories also exist of people havingwitnessed the aftermath of a vampire attack.

On this date in 1997, Buffy the Vampire Slayerpremiered on TV, mixing wit, teenage angst and B-movie drama in apopular series about a high-school student who is chosen to slaythe vampires that inhabit her town.
