Cornell Professor Daryl Bem conducted nine experiments on more than1,000 Cornell students to test the human mind powers of premonition andprecognition。
In one experiment Bem gathered 100 subjects, half male and halffemale. Using a computerized system, they then played a game in whichtwo curtains were displayed on the screen and the subjects had to choosewhich one had a picture hiding behind it. Some of these pictures wereneutral in content. Others were chosen at random by the computer from adatabase of semi-erotic and erotic photos。
The result: In cases where an erotic photo was lurking behind thecurtain the subjects were able to accurately identify which curtain itwas behind with 53.4 percent accuracy. The accuracy rates were not ashigh for non-stimulating images. This suggests that the subjects couldsomehow sense the erotic stimuli that awaited them before it happened。
That's not to say that storefront psychics really can read yourpalm, or that one can see the future simply by thinking hard about it.But Bem's experiment suggests the brain does have some ability toperceive what's coming。

实验结果是：受试者能以53.4%的准确率精确地指出色情图片藏在哪个窗帘后。对于那些不具有刺激性的图像，准确率则降低。这表明受试者可以以某种方式感知到即将出现在他们面前的色情刺激物。
然而这并不是说临街铺面的巫师真能看手相，或只要苦苦思索就能看到未来。但贝姆的实验表明，大脑确实有一定的能力感知即将发生的事。
