在学习Enterprise Vault的过程中，不只一次地看到了Ad hoc这个词，什么意思？ 查了一下词典，意思是“特别的”，好怪的词，我不能这样不求甚解，到wikipedia看看，果然有收获。 Ad hoc is a Latin phrase which means "for this [purpose]". It generally signifies a solution designed for a specific problem or task, non-generalizable, and which cannot be adapted to other purposes. 拉丁语，怪不得。通常指一种专为解决某个特定的问题或完成某项特定的任务而设计的解决方案。 那么Ad hoc network又是什么意思呢？ A wireless ad hoc network is a decentralized wireless network.[1] The network is ad hoc because each node is willing to forward data for other nodes, and so the determination of which nodes forward data is made dynamically based on the network connectivity. This is in contrast to wired networks in which routers perform the task of routing. It is also in contrast to managed (infrastructure) wireless networks, in which a special node known as an access point manages communication among other nodes. 原来是一种分布式的无线网络，与靠路由器转发数据包的有线网络和靠AP来转发数据包的无线网络不同，任何一个节点都可以为其它的节点转发数据包。
