Dr. Ingo Nentwig, a German Sinologist and ethnology expert, was interviewed by Chinese newspaper Reference News affiliated to Xinhua News Agency.

"Communist party of China (CPC) is the choice made by the Chinese people", Nentwig said.

When asked what’s the difference he deems between CPC and any other ruling party in the world, and how he would evaluate CPC’s advancement, vitality and administrative ability, Dr. Nentwig said people need to find a clue to the CPC myth before trying to understand it, as the vast majority of the Western politicians have little knowledge about the CPC.

He then elaborated on the topic by saying as follows----

First—Historic foundation, why CPC could become the ruling party is that in those days, more than 90% of the Chinese supported the Chinese revolution. It is different from the socialist countries in East Europe, which came in being after the Soviet red army flooded in. On the other hand, CPC working as the ruling party is all decided by the Chinese people, rather than being forced upon by the outside forces.

Second----Ruling conception, the ruling parties in the Western countries have only the simple theories to meet the needs of daily political life, but the CPC has a theory system with complete worldview and methodology. As the ruling party, the CPC has its basis of thoughts: Marxism, Leninism and Mao theory, and develops with time and beyond the daily political needs.

Third----People support, despite the fact the CPC made mistakes in history---such as “Cultural Revolution” and “Great Leap Forward”, the overwhelming majority of the Chinese still support its leadership, which could be also a myth to the Westerners. But it is an unanswerable fact that it is the CPC’s leadership that helps a huge country feeding the world’s largest population shake off poverty, turn out prosperous and stable, and march onto a path to a great success.

Dr. Nentwig added if he is asked to grade the CPC’s performance, he would mark 95 for its days before 1949, when the New China was founded; while put 80 for its performance after the year on.
