China's rejuvenation and reunification require the support and participation of all Chinese people, both domestic and overseas, said Zhou Tienong, chairman of the Central Committee of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang (RCCK).

Zhou, also vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislature, made the remarks during a meeting with a visiting delegation of overseas Chinese on Wednesday.

The delegation consisted of delegates from the European Federation of Chinese Organizations (EFCO) and the Europe Association for Promoting Peaceful Reunification of China (EAPPRC).

Overseas Chinese organizations, including the EFCO and the EAPPRC, have made unremitting efforts in supporting China's reunification, Zhou said.

The peaceful development of the cross-Strait relationship between the Chinese mainland and Taiwan is the common aspiration of all Chinese people, he said.

People and parties on both sides of the Taiwan Strait should share the same goal of reunification and prosperity, said Zhang Manxin, EFCO secretary-general and EAPPRC chairman.

He called on people on both sides of the Strait to set aside past prejudices and make joint efforts to achieve this goal.

The delegation came to the Chinese mainland to attend a forum observing the 100th anniversary of the 1911 Revolution, which ended China's 2,000 years of imperial rule.
