Vase with Ormolu

This is a small vase with an ormolu base and top made by Meissen in about 1740. The vase is handpainted with flowers in the woodcut style before the Deutsche Blumen style took hold. These flowers are much more natural looking and much more detailed than later ones. It has one large floral arrangement on the front and the back as well as lots of smaller flowers all around. The ormolu gilded base is superb and the top is nice as well. I was given the lid by the guy I bought it from when he found it amound the other items he had. So I have that now too! Which makes it likely a perfume bottle!? The ormolu is definitely from around 1740. The vase is in superb condition with two tips of the ormolu base holding the piece onto the porcelain broken off. No big deal. The piece is 5.25 inches tall and 2.5 inches in diameter. The base is typical for Meissen and one can see a faint blue mark but it is impossible to make out. Definitely Meissen from this period though as that is unmistakable. Please email me for more information or other pictures. Price is $2249
