剧情介绍
　　你确信认识他吗？帕特里克·贝特曼是华尔街的骄子，炙手可热的股票经纪人，年轻有为的他每天给自己的客户们赚进无数的美元。这么说吧，他绝对是个帮你管钱敛钱的好朋友。　　这个年轻的小伙子受过良好的教育，英俊迷人，谈吐风趣幽默。不过，这一切仅在白天有效。当夜幕降临时，黑暗的无边恐怖唤醒了贝特曼双重性格中“evil”的一面。他是一个魔鬼。一个穿着雨衣在大街上踟蹰的魔鬼。贝特曼内心孤寂无靠，他需要一点点东西来刺激一下自己冷漠的感情。　　寂寂黑夜。贝特曼将一个个猎物绑架到他的豪华公寓，一点一点折磨，看着鲜血慢慢涌出，猎物痛苦地死去，一种莫名的快感袭击着贝特曼。尤其是坐在那儿，悠闲地抽着雪茄，看着在房间里悬挂摇摆的躯体，贝特曼从未体会过如此的心悸与平静。　　贝特曼的双重性格让他终日忙碌。然而罪恶终是无法掩盖，一个冷血的连环杀人案凶手的结局会是怎样呢？贝特曼找到了心中的天堂吗？

幕后制作
　　你若觉得这不可信，那是因为这是一个象征性的寓言，暗示那华尔街的大亨都是榨取老百姓血汗的吸血鬼，借此批判里根年代的拜金主义（即经济高速发展时的必然现象）。影片的人物塑造属于漫画式，但场景的视觉效果并不差，至少可以让中国的有识之士感受一下人家赚钱后是怎么挥霍的。女导演津津乐道于主角的裸体戏，据称是女权主义胜利的象征。其实在影片最初的筹拍阶段，莱昂纳多·迪卡普里奥曾对男主角很感兴趣，狮门公司于是发布了迪卡普里奥即将领衔主演的新闻，结果得知此事的玛丽·哈伦愤然离去，因为此事根本没争取她的意见，而且她希望由克里斯汀·贝尔来扮演帕特里克。在她走后，奥利弗·斯通开始同制片方交涉，放出的口风更让媒体轰动，因为他盯准了巨额投入。后来当迪卡普里奥和斯通都退出拍摄计划后，哈伦和贝尔重新归队。

Some girls in the apartment uptown uh, some homeless people maybe 5 or 10 um an NYU girl I met in Central Park. I left her in a parking lot behind some donut shop. I killed Bethany, my old girlfriend, with a nail gun, and some man uh some old faggot with a dog last week. I killed another girl with a chainsaw, I had to, she almost got away and uh someone else there I can't remember maybe a model, but she's dead too. And Paul Allen. I killed Paul Allen with an axe in the face, his body is dissolving in a bathtub in Hell's Kitchen. I don't want to leave anything out here. I guess I've killed maybe 20 people, maybe 40. I have tapes of a lot of it, uh some of the girls have seen the tapes. I even, um... I ate some of their brains, and I tried to cook a little. Tonight I, uh, I just had to kill a LOT of people.
