完成尺寸:约10mmx1.6m

Materials:

Yarn: Approximately 160 yards of worsted weight yarn in a main color and 160 Yarns of worsted weight yarn in a contrasting color.  I used Bernat satin in Lagoon and Sea Shell.

Needles: US Size 5, or whatever size you need to achieve the proper gauge.

Gauge: 17 stitches x 25 rows= 4”x4”

Gauge is not terribly important; you just want to make sure your stitches are not too loose.  I have a tendency to knit looser when I’m double knitting.

Finished Measurements:  Approximately 4”x62”

Cast on 17 stitches with both strands held together.  The MC should be on the right side of every cast on stitch while the CC should be on the left.

Begin knitting the first row by knitting the MC stitches (with the MC yarn) and purling the CC stitches (with the CC Yarn).  You will need to move both strands of yarn to the front or back of the piece together (depending on whether you knitting or purling) as you work across the row.

When you get to the end of the row, twist your yarns together once to prevent a gap from opening on the side of the piece.  Begin the second row by knitting the CC stitches and purling the MC stitches.

Repeat these two rows three more times until six rows are completed.

Then you can begin to work from the chart.

When working the chart, each square counts for two stitches (one MC Stitch and one CC stitch).  When you reach an “X” on the chart and are working on the right side of the piece you will purl the MC stitch and knit the CC stitch.  On the wrong side of the fabric when you reach an “X” you will knit the MC stitch and purl the CC stitch.

Between each star motif, knit 6 rows plain (knitting MC stitches and purling CC stitches on the RS and knitting CC stitches and purling MC stitches on the WS).

Repeat the chart, and the following six rows of plain knitting, until the piece measure 62” or until the desired length is reached.

To bind off, hold both strands together and knit the first MC and first CC stitch together.  Then knit the second MC and CC stitch together the same way.  Pull the first stitch over the second and off the needle.  Continue to bind off in this manner.  Weave in ends.
