Around 4,000 Chinese including the troops of the People's Liberation Army of China are in Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK), Army Chief Gen. V K Singh said today amid the unease in the Indian establishment over their presence there.

印陆军参谋长:4000解放军出现在克什米尔

据陆军参谋长Gen. V K Singh称：差不多有4,000中国解放军军队出现在巴基斯坦被占领城市克什米尔，引起了印度建立在巴基斯坦机构的不安。

"There are certain construction working teams, a large number is available. Around 3,000 to 4,000 of these people are present including certain people for security purposes. There are certain engineers troops. Now our own engineers are combat engineers. So, in some way they are part of the PLA," he told reporters here.

他对那边的记者称：“那边有基建工程队伍，可利用的很多。大概有3,000~4,000人在那里，包括有些人是为安保到那边的。当中也有一些工程师军队。现在我们的工程师也是战斗工程师。所以，在某种程度上来说，他们是中国人民解放军的一部分。”

The statement comes against the backdrop of concerns in India about the presence and engagement of Chinese troops in PoK, which India considers as its own land.

New Delhi has already conveyed its concerns to China over the presence of its troops in PoK and its activities in that region.

Recently, a senior Indian Army commander had said that Chinese are mainly engaged in construction activities of highways and dams in PoK as well as the northern areas.
