Britons find being older than 52 is nothing to laugh about becausethat's the age when they start becoming grumpy, according to a survey onFriday。
The poll of 2,000 Britons found those over 50 laughed far less than their younger counterparts and complained far more。
While infants laughed up to 300 times a day, that figure had fallento an average of six laughs by teenage years and only 2.5 dailychuckles for those over 60, the survey for cable TV channel Dave found。
Men were also found to be grumpier than women。
One reason for the decline in mirth might be the lack ofjoke-telling skills. The study found the average Briton only knows twojokes。
根据周五发布的一项调查，对于英国人来说，年龄超过52岁没什么好高兴的，因为过了52岁，人的脾气就会见长。
这项调查共有2000名英国人参加。该调查发现：50岁以上的人笑得远比年轻一些的人要少，而抱怨则多得多。
有线电视频道Dave委托开展的这一调查发现，婴儿每天能笑300次，到了青少年时期平均每天只笑六次，而超过60岁的人每天只笑2.5次。
调查还发现，男性比女性脾气更大。
年纪越大欢笑越少的原因之一可能是缺乏讲笑话的技巧。研究发现，每名英国人平均只知道两个笑话。
