People love psychology. Let meclarify that. People love Positive Psychology sometimes called thepsychology of happiness.

And the study of happiness seemed tobe pretty popular with Harvard students. That year, TalBen-Shahar’s class there on “How to get happy” (his words) packedthem in at an estimated 900 students.

And what’s the professors advice onhappiness?

Well he has six tips about thediscovering happiness in your life:

Six Tips For Happiness by TalBen-Shahar
     1. Give yourself permission to be human. When weaccept emotions — such as fear, sadness, or anxiety — as natural,we are more likely to overcome them. Rejecting our emotions,positive or negative, leads to frustration andunhappiness.

2. Happiness lies at the intersectionbetween pleasure and meaning. Whether at work or at home, the goalis to engage in activities that are both personally significant andenjoyable. When this is not feasible, make sure you have happinessboosters, moments throughout the week that provide you with bothpleasure and meaning.

3. Keep in mind that happiness ismostly dependent on our state of mind, not on our status or thestate of our bank account. Barring extreme circumstances, our levelof well being is determined by what we choose to focus on (the fullor the empty part of the glass) and by our interpretation ofexternal events. For example, do we view failure as catastrophic,or do we see it as a learning opportunity?

4. Simplify! We are, generally, toobusy, trying to squeeze in more and more activities into less andless time. Quantity influences quality, and we compromise on ourhappiness by trying to do too much.

5. Remember the mind-body connection.What we do — or don’t do — with our bodies influences our mind.Regular exercise, adequate sleep, and healthy eating habits lead toboth physical and mental health.

6. Express gratitude, wheneverpossible. We too often take our lives for granted. Learn toappreciate and savor the wonderful things in life, from people tofood, from nature to a smile.

2.遵从你内心的热情。

     3.学会失败。
成功没有捷径,历史上有成就的人,总是敢于行动,也会经常失败。不要让对失败的恐惧,绊住你尝试新事物的脚步。


    4.简化生活。
更多并不总代表更好,好事多了,不一定有利。你选了太多的课吗?参加了太多的活动吗?应求精而不在多。

5.有规律地锻炼。

体育运动是你生活中最重要的事情之一。每周只要3 次,每次只要30 分钟,就能大大改善你的身心健康。

6.表达感激。
生活中,不要把你的家人、朋友、健康、教育等这一切当成理所当然的。它们都是你回味无穷的礼物。记录他人的点滴恩惠,始终保持感恩之心。每天或至少每周一次,请你把它们记下来。
