"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." - this is the famous qutation by French thinker Voltaire. This qutation has been promoted by the Western media and politicians to the whole world as the signs of safeguarding the "Freedom of speech". But now, as the hacking scandal fermenting, it seems like that the Voltaire's gold words needs to be revised carefully - where is the border of the Freedom of Speech??

Rupert Murdoch the "Media Saturn" admitted that he spent the humblest day of his lifetime in the hearings on July 19. Some are worring about the collapse of the media empire and the others care more about whether the scandal would harm the freedom of the speech.

Recently, UK deputy FM Nick Clegg's safeguarding Freedom of Speech for taboild becomes another media hotspot. If you listen to his speech, you will know well which camp he stands in. Clegg made it clear that it doesn't matter even the media called him as Nazi.  And Clegg's speech had negative respond immediately. The reader James said, I don't believe that Clegg will really talks for the freedom of speech, the so called democratic really gives us the democracy? Real democracy and democratics don't exist. Another one called Daniel says, interestingly, Voltaire doesn't said so. As for Clegg, he has not even any thread of shadow of Voltaire, but more of a vote-lobbying politician.

NewYork Post wrote on July 9 that even Voltaire once said "I will defend to the death your right to say it", but at the moment being, this quotation needs rethinking - we live in the free realm, but does it mean that we can easily walk in any one cinema in this country and yelling "fire!"?  Such action, should be taken as commit the crime of practicing freedom and rights of speech.

So, where is the border of the Freedom of Speech? Contribute you ideas here!
