On July 10, the closing and awarding ceremony of Tour de Qinghai Lake was held in Lanzhou of Jiangsu province.

The 2011 Tour de Qinghai Lake kicked off on July 1. Twenty-two teams from five continents participated in the game, riding a total distance of 1,540 kilometers, 1,300 kilometers of which was the racing distance.

The game also created many new records: It was the first time the competition crossed provinces, the 500,000 dollar prize exceeded that of any other event of the same level, and there were six UCI Pro-Continental Teams that joined the game, more than at any previous events.

Slovenian rider Gazvoda Greger of the Perutninaptuj team successfully won the Individual Championship title. Grvzdev Dmitry, of the Kazakhstan National Team, was named the Best Asian Rider. Saeidi Tanha Abbas won the King of the Mountains Rider award, and Shpilevsky Boris of the Tabriz Petrochemical Team won the best Sprint Point. The Slovenia Perutninaptuj team was crowned the team champion.
