Senior official urges to promote technological innovation, emerging industries
A senior Chinese official has called for more efforts to promote the country's technological innovation and the development of emerging industries.
State Councilor Liu Yandong made the remarks during her visit to energy, transport and environmental protection enterprises in north China's Hebei Province on Monday.
Liu said that local government should foster a better environment for enterprises to improve technological innovation, and the enterprises should concentrate their resources on innovating key technologies.
Research institutes and universities should also join in to cooperate with enterprises and promote a shared platform for technological innovation, Liu said.
