《Downtown》是美剧《迷失》第3季16集的插曲，这里介绍一下这首歌和歌手。
佩屈拉.克拉克（Petula Clark），1932年十一月出生于伦敦的近郊，父母都是在医院从事看护的专业人员，不过都有著歌唱的天赋，她的父亲还曾经做过明星梦。承袭自父母的天生美好歌喉，使得她从三岁起就开始跟母亲一起在教堂里歌唱。发现女儿歌唱才华的父亲，决心扶植她来实现自己未能达成的美梦，於是在她九岁那年，透过关系，安排小佩屈拉去参加BBC的一个现场广播节目。当时正是大战期间，在排练的时候，忽然响起了空袭jing报，观众立刻一阵慌乱。节目的制作人赶快问现场有没有人愿意上台歌唱，来安抚观众。佩屈拉自告奋勇的登台，果然成功的让大众安定下来。就这样，她成了节目的常客。
1964年，在先后有许多支单曲轰动法国之后，她的唱片制作人汤尼海奇（Tony Hatch）带著一堆自己写的歌曲来找她，并且建议她，应该可以再度尝试用英语来灌录唱片了。佩屈拉克拉克回答说，她愿意回到英国发展，但前提是必须要先找到合适的歌曲。在她跑到厨房去泡茶来招待客人的时候，汤尼海奇随手在钢琴上弹奏了一段自己刚刚谱出来的旋律，她在厨房里听到了，立刻冲出来，问汤尼那是什么歌曲。汤尼表示，那首歌叫做「Downtown」，但是还没有歌词。佩屈拉说，那首歌曲很棒，假如汤尼可以写出相配的歌词，她愿意灌录，并且藉以回到英国歌坛。
这首歌曲录制完成后，先是在英国推出，得到了第二名，接著又进军美国市场。过去，从1951到1962年间，早已在英国、澳洲、加拿大以及欧洲各地都相当有知名度的佩屈拉克拉克，曾经在美国推出过好些单曲，但是都不太成功。「Downtown」的推出，改变了一切。1964年的十二月十九日，这首歌第一次打进美国排行，获得第八十七名，随即开始急速的往上窜升，五个星期后，就在1965年的一月二十三日，夺得了美国的冠军，蝉联两周，使她成为摇滚年代以来第一个夺得美国冠军的英国女歌手。
