Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt said on Monday that it was important that Osama bin Laden was gone.

He was commenting on the news that Osama bin Laden was killed by a group of American soldiers in a building outside Pakistan capital Islamabad on Sunday.

"He supported Jihad and kill unprotected people, thus it is important that he has gone," said Reinfeldt.

He said at least now the world can breathe out. Bin Laden is an ideology that supports killing of unprotected people to reach political goals.

But one cannot say that terrorist threat has already gone, Reinfeldt stressed.

He refused to say if there will be any changes to Swedish troops in Afghanistan.

Swedish terrorist expert Magnus Ranstorp agreed with the prime minister.

"Bin Laden was just a symbol, a spiritual leader, but not an operator, his death indicates that the symbol has been eliminated, but the threat is still there," Ranstorp said to the Swedish media.

He said that many people already think bin Laden is a martyr, thus it is likely that some individuals can still follow his idea and launch attack, but the organized structural attack is unlikely.
