The event, co-sponsored by the National Tourism Administration and the Sichuan provincial government, will showcase Sichuan's post-quake rebuilding experience as well as some new tourist destinations in new counties near the epicenter of the 8.0-Magnitude quake that shook most of the province in May 2008.
About 600 delegates will attend the month-long event, including 200 international delegates from 60 countries and regions, the Sichuan provincial government said in a press release.
Representatives from the World Tourism Organization, World Travel and Tourism Council and the Pacific Asia Travel Association will also participate.
The festival will open in Shuimo Township of Wenchuan County, the epicenter of the 2008 quake. Representatives will also visit the quake-leveled counties of Maoxian, Beichuan and Mianzhu.
The quake left about 87,000 people dead or missing.
Post-quake rebuilding has come to an end.
