背单词的方法 市面上流行的背单词的方法很多,比如“词根词缀”、“联想记忆”、“谐音记忆”等,但是,从本质上说,这些方法适合“授课”,但是不适合“使用”,因此也不具备通用性。从记忆行为本身来看,“自然记忆”和“机械记忆”是两种主要的记忆方式。在日常生活中,人们的记忆行为通常表现为“自然记忆”,并且自然记忆的效果是非常好的。但是,在学习过程中,大多数人却不由自主地选择和使用了效果并不好的“机械记忆”(实际上很多人也不知道为什么要选择这种方式,只不过所有人都这样做,自己也就这样做了)。于是,上述流行的记忆方法应运而生,其目的是为了补充机械记忆的不足。 自然记忆并不是不可以实现的。考虑一下自然记忆的特点,无非是如下两点:一是自然记忆没有显性的记忆过程,也就是说,我们在记忆过程中不会专门做“背”这个动作,这一点显然和“背”单词的做法是相矛盾的。日常生活中很多例子可以体现自然记忆的这种特征。比如,我们记忆一个人的长相的时候,就从来没有专门“背”过;我们记住自己家住在什么地方的时候,也从来没有“背”过。二是自然记忆的结果不容易丧失。在我们所记住的东西中,凡是难以忘记的,几乎都是自然记忆的结果,比如小时候发生的若干事情,平时看过的电视剧情节,父母曾经跟我们说过的话等。相反,机械记忆的结果是很容易丢失的,比如我们经常忘记刻意记过的某条路怎么走,我们也经常忘记专门背诵的某些课文或者诗歌,无论它们是用中文写的还是英文写的。按照这样的特征,我们只需要在单词记忆过程中也尽量模拟非显性记忆过程就可以了。 模拟自然记忆的过程非常容易,基本的原则只有一条,就是高频率重复。所有的电视广告都是使用了这种原则很好地实现了自然记忆的过程,比如脑白金的广告,恒源祥的广告等。所以,在单词记忆的过程中,最有效的办法也是同样的高频率重复!因此,我们需要有几个方法来实现这样的过程:
1. 使用零散的时间记忆单词。很多同学都喜欢用大段的时间来背单词,但是事实上效果是不好的。首先,大块时间背单词实际上是一种“显性”的单词记忆过程,它已经不是自然记忆的方法。(仔细想想,我们有哪个电视广告是一直看30分钟的呢?)其次,长时间进行枯燥的单词记忆容易造成催眠效应,以至于背单词的时候很容易犯困。第三,每天大量的零散时间不能用于完成“不可拆分”的任务,实际上全部被浪费掉了,而用于处理单词的记忆这种可以拆分的任务则正好。因此,我的建议是根据自己的实际情况总结一下自己每天的零散时间,用若干个5-10分钟的时间段来替代过去的整块时间。这样不仅可以实现单词的自然记忆过程,还能提高学习效率。任何时间、任何地点,只要有空闲就可以看单词,不用在意这段时间有多长,也不用在意这个地方是否是安静的教室。

2. 尽量以10-15天为周期重复所有单词。很多同学把背单词的周期拉得过长,以至于背了后面忘了前面,甚至有很多我们认为已经“记住”的单词在背完整本书背完以后仍然被遗忘了。所以,正确的做法应该是:尽量在记忆衰减前加强对已经看过的单词进行重复,以强化它们在大脑中的印象,而10-15天正好是记忆衰减的周期。我们可以按照需要记忆的单词总量进行划分,得到每天要看的单词量。通常,如果需要记忆的单词总量是5000的话,那么每天应该把单词量限制在不少于400-600。

3. 单词记忆用“看”而不用“背”。对于每天需要记忆的400-600个单词,我们不需要,也不可能一次全部记住,所以,就像自然记忆的过程一样,我们只需要每天反复地看这些单词,并在大脑中像过电影一样想它们的发音和意思就可以了,这样的重复每天4-6遍最好。实际上,这些单词在我们反复阅读的过程中就不断在大脑皮层中得到了强化,也许我们不会在第一天看过以后就有非常强烈的印象,但是在重复若干次以后,这些单词在大脑中的印象必然会越来越强烈,直到我们一看到单词就能反射出含义。从这个意义上说,单词的记忆不是论“个”的,而是论“片”的,即这些单词在大脑中的印象是由模糊逐渐变清晰的,而不是由少变多的。当然,在记忆过程中还需要注意两个问题:一是一边看单词要一边标记单词的熟练程度,对于熟练程度高的单词,重复过程中可以稍快一些,甚至不看;相反,对于熟练程度低的单词,我们需要看得慢一些。随着单词记忆过程的进行,熟练的单词会越来越多,我们重复的周期也就可以缩短了。二是在看单词的时候不需要看例句。在单词还没有认识的时候,看例句不会对记忆起到辅助作用,反而增大了记忆量。所以,在单词还没有记住的时候,可以暂时不看例句,等到单词基本掌握了,我们可以通过例句明白单词的用法。

4. 每个单词花费的时间为5-10秒钟。很多同学习惯每一个单词花费大量的时间去看,但实际上在每次看单词的时候,花费5分钟和5秒钟都是一样的,单词在大脑皮层上的信息记录效果完全没有区别,其遗忘效果也是几乎相同的。所以,我们应该多次重复,并降低每个单词消耗的时间,这样无论从效果和效率来看都是不错的。

5. 避免抄写单词和记忆单词的拼写。抄写单词是很多同学喜欢使用的方法,但是它极大地增加了单词记忆的工作量,并且书写单词时大脑没有同步记忆,实际上是没有产生记忆效果的。而单词的拼写属于字母的无序组合,记忆拼写的难度跟记忆我们手机里所存储的电话号码的难度是一样的。所以,记忆单词的发音比记住单词的拼写更容易,也更重要。学会根据发音写单词,是良好的单词学习的方法。

6. 视觉刺激和听觉刺激结合。我们用单词书背单词是一种无视觉影像的刺激,这种刺激不如听觉刺激明显。所以,对于某些单词来说,单纯根据书本来记忆效果是不太好的,而这时候如果有单词的讲解配合,就会起到事半功倍的效果。对于准备托福和GRE的同学来说,老俞的词汇串讲课程是比较好的辅助资料,我们可以在单词记忆的同时也听一听这个课程,记忆效果会更好。当然,如果能够在看单词的时候也听到单词的发音,那自然就是更棒的了(我们的langlib 可以实现这样的功能) 。

按照1-6的方式,单词记忆就基本可以变成一个自然记忆的过程,你会发现,如果你坚持做下去,可能在2个月以后,GRE单词就不再是什么问题了。我们用langlib 系统做过测试,如果用户能够按照我们设定的计划进行复习,基本上都能在比较短的时间内解决单词记忆问题。最后需要提醒大家的是,GRE单词总量相对偏大,因此可以采用每天适当增加时间和工作量的方式来进行合理调节。

特点:世界权威词典,发音绝对标准,对于纠正发音很有帮助。

建议:在网页中间的输入框中输入你要听发音的单词,然后点击“ Search ”,在搜索结果页面上再点击单词旁边的红色小喇叭图标就可以听到发音了。
