所以今天与大家分享的单词就是inaugural address (就职演说)和 inauguration ceremory (就职典礼) An inauguration is a ceremony of formal investiture whereby an individual assumes an office or position of authority or power. The term is usually used in reference to a politician’s assumption of the duties of head of state or head of government (e.g. the President’s inauguration). An “inaugural address” is the presidential speech given at this ceremony. 所谓就职,那就是rise to power, rise to presidency 吧. auction 名词:拍卖(价格越拍越高)auctioneer 名词:拍卖师(-eer表示人的名词后缀,比如pioneer, mountaineer, engineer)augment 动词:增加 增大angmentative 形容词:增加的,宏伟的august 形容词:威严的(不断上升一直到伟大的程度)augustine 男孩名字:奥古斯丁(大写首字母,就是奥古斯丁大帝)Augustine: one of the great fathers of the early Christian church; after a dramatic conversion to Christianity he became bishop of Hippo Regius in North Africa; St. Augustine emphasized man’s need for grace (354-430)authority 名词:权威(也是上升到高高在上的人)authortative形容词:权威的(-ive形容词后缀)authorize 动词:授权(高高在上者给其他人授予权利) address 这个单词也值得深入学习,作名词时表示“地址,讲演”,作动词时,意思是“称呼。。。”“给。。。 Don’t address me as “Colonel”, I’m only a major. His address gave umbrage to the authorities. I now call on Mr. Ford to address the meeting. How to Address the Issue of Electric Power Demand Without Enough Generation Capacity如何应对当前我国电力供应不足的问题 特别提醒:1.
